John E Gerich, MD

John E. Gerich, MD, is a Professor Emeritus of Medicine in Endocrine/Metabolism at the University of Rochester. His work has focused on glucose homeostasis and hypoglycemia counter-regulation, and URMC notes his record as a clinical investigator with more than 500 publications and mentorship of nearly 50 clinical research fellows. He received his MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine and has served as program director of the NIH-funded Clinical Research Center; he was also elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation in 1977.
