James M. Powers, M.D., is a Professor Emeritus of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and a former director of UR Medicine’s neuropathology service. His academic work has focused on adrenoleukodystrophy, myelin diseases, dementia, neuronal migration defects, and peroxisomal diseases; he was recognized by the American Association of Neuropathologists with its Lifetime Achievement Award for meritorious contributions to neuropathology.
